“I’m delighted to be supplying Sunoco as the control fuel for the Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone” says Anders Hildebrand, Managing Director of Anglo American Oil Company, suppliers of Sunoco fuels in the UK.
The deal, between Hildebrand and Britcar Director James Tucker, was settled at the Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC on Sunday, January 17th 2010.
This year will see the fifth running of the Britcar 24hr race on Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit, and the event, to be held over 1st – 3rd October 2010, is popular with top-line teams from the UK and Europe, and an ever-growing contingent of spectators. The inaugural race was won by Martin Short’s Rollcentre team in a Mosler, with subsequent victories being claimed by the crack German Duller squad in their BMW Z3, and the Porsche of the all-British Paragon team.
The event will see the largest ever fuel supply and delivery for a single race in the UK, within strictly defined time and safety parameters, a logistical challenge which Anglo American Oil Company is well-placed to meet.
Sunoco, of course, is supplier of fuels for the famed Rolex 24 At Daytona, to be held January 30th-31st 2010. Sunoco also supports the 2010 Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona Challenge, won this year by Derek Johnston, who has a seat with the Doran Racing team in this year’s race.
