This was definitely a race of two halves - the first two hours saw the GT and Production classes mixed - early leader Aaron Scott dropped rapidly down the order, eventual GT winner Witt Gamski had a spin and a drive through penalty, and young Glynn Geddie's precocious talent shone through in the early stages. Two safety car periods altered the shape of the race, and Gino Ussi took the 2-hour Production win whilst the caution was still in place, when the Calum Lockie/Paul White BMW forfeited the lead by making a post-curfew fuel stop, deciding to concentrate on a four-hour campaign.
Notable performances from the Jones cousins and the new works-backed Mazda MX5 initiative were highlights.
More detailed report to come.
