Over the next few weeks we will preview some of the contenders and entrants of the Dunlop 24 Hour at Silverstone.
Up first is the MJC crew, spearheaded by Witt Gamski in the Ferrari 430 GT.
The Ferrari 430 GT of Witt Gamski will make a fearsome opponent for any contender; fast, consistent, determined and reliable. MJC are not new to the endurance scene, in fact they have a wealth of experience, with a few endurance championships and 24hr races under their belt not to mention a raft of pole positions, they most certainly know they are doing!
The MJC 430 is well developed and reliable vehicle, one that will keep the the field honest throughout the 24 hours. The Dunlop 24 Hour organising team welcomes Witt Gamski and the team and wish them all the best of luck.
Stay tuned for more updates for more information on the Dunlop 24 Hour race at Silverstone.
Britcar is extremely proud to announce that 24 Hour endurance racing will return to England, promoting the Dunlop 24hr at Silverstone in 2015. After a 2 year hiatus and a huge amount of hard work, we can confirm that the 24hr will run on the 23-26th of April 2015.
We have had a huge amount of support from teams and spectators, who are willing to see the return of the event, for which we are very grateful and we are happy that we can provide what is a much sort after event.
Strengthening the infamous event will be title sponsor Dunlop, who have had a long standing history with endurance racing, providing durable high performance tyres for serious competition.
A number of teams have already committed to competing in the event, for which we are extremely grateful for. We will work hard to build the grid and will announce new arrivals over the lead-up to the event. We will be following this up with weekly updates of the registered teams with images and stories of the teams on our website & social media feeds.
The 24hr will see a wide variety of vehicles taking to the tarmac, from the serious GT3 vehicles all the way to small production based vehicles that will all be battling out for outright victory on Silverstone’s International Circuit. A circuit that is quick, challenging and very rewarding at the same time, but who will able to last the gruelling 24hrs?

That’s right!
The next big event in British endurance racing is the DUNLOP 24 HOURS at SILVERSTONE!
Entries are open and flooding in, we have had over 70 expressions of interest with 25 teams provisionally entering the event providing great promise for what is building up to be a great event.
24 Hour racing is no stranger to the United Kingdom, with the first race taking place way back in 1907 at the Brooklands Motor Circuit. The winner Selwyn Edge covered a distance of 1,581 miles in his specially converted Napier which included a modified fuel tank, special windscreen and body panels which had been removed to save weight. An interesting statistic is that Edge drove the whole distance of the race which is a feat not to be underestimated!
The 24 Hour race has visited the Snetterton racetrack throughout its tenure, there has also been a 25 Hour event held at Snetterton creating the “World’s longest endurance race” Throughout the late 90’s a 24 Hour race did not feature in the UK at all.
In 2005, 24 Hour racing returned with the Britcar 24 Hour race at Silverstone with Dutch and English teams taking honours over the last few years.
The last time a 24 Hour race was held at Silverstone was 2012, where the winner’s MP Motorsport won the race covering a distance of 2,064 Miles, showing an improvement of 500 odd miles since the Brooklands race in 1907. That’s quite an achievement in 100 years!
Over the next few weeks we will be keeping the website updated with information about the event, updated provisional entry lists and much more.
