JENSEN Motorsport to bring further upgrades to Spa-Francorchamps!
In just a few days Jensen Motorsport will be heading off from its Hampshire HQ to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium to compete in the next rounds of the Britcar Endurance Championship. Moral is high within the team following another long list of upgrades to the teams GR8 GTS car. The Car based on a Chevron GR8 has since in the hands of Jensen Motorsport undergone a radical development program, team owner Jensen comments “The Chevron always had potential, its wheelbase, dry weight and layout always had more potential than the standard Duratec powerplant could deliver, that said our development has not only been based around the powerplant, but also aero, braking and driveability, more upgrades are now on the car and we look forward to see how they perform at Spa”.
Whilst the car is capable of well over 500bhp the team currently restrict the output of the superchargers to conform to championship regulations and to aid in the progressive development of the car, team engineer Gage English Explains “The powerplant designed by TTS Performance based on a Cosworth unit is capable of much more than we are currently allowing it to do, power increases have to be balanced with chassis and aero modifications, the whole package has to work together, potentially this cars power to weight could if unrestricted exceed anything in the Britcar Championship this season, but its not that simple, however our new upgrades for Spa allow us to push a bit further whilst adhering to our strict development program alongside our technical partners such as TTS Performance, Cosworth and TDF”.
